2 tbsp butter
2 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme
1/4 tsp each salt and pepper
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 lb butter puff pastry, thawed
8 Fiorucci Panino Jamón Serrano Wrapped Manchego Cheese
1 egg, beaten
1. Melt butter in large, nonstick skillet set over medium heat; cook apples, thyme, salt and pepper, stirring occasionally, for 12 to 15 minutes or until very tender. Sprinkle brown sugar over apples. Cook for about 5 minutes until golden brown and slightly saucy; let cool completely.
2. Preheat oven to 400F. On lightly floured work surface, roll out puff pastry into two 12-inch squares. Cut each square into 4 squares. Spoon apple mixture onto each square, leaving border all around. Place Paninos diagonally through middle of each square. Brush edges of pastry with egg and fold over to create triangle shapes and securely enclose filling. Seal and crimp edges with fork.
3. Arrange on parchment paper–lined baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on tray for at least 10 minutes. Serve warm.
Tip: Look for pre-rolled puff pastry in the freezer section to save time in preparing these turnovers.
